Yamaha file

Yamaha's first production turbo road bike, a four-cylinder shaft-drive machine with a small turbocharger tucked between gearbox and rear wheel and a blow-through carburettor setup. Compression was lowered and the engine strengthened to cope with boost, and a knock-sensing ignition retarded timing under load. Road testers found it fast above about 6,000 rpm but heavy, with noticeable turbo lag.
